The much loved Palace Cinema in Felixstowe is set to re-open in July.
The cinema temporarily closed its doors amidst the Corona Virus Pandemic in March.
A statement written by the Owner of Palatial Leisure and The Palace Cinema, Patrick Duffy, says;
Dear All,
It looks like July 4th for reopening of your Palace Cinema Felixstowe.
Now things will be a little different for entering, moving around and leaving the cinema but the fun of watching your movie and attending the cinema should be the same.We are not selling every other row so you have 2 metres distance both in front and behind you and I have a screen that will keep 2 metres between you and anyone not in your family or group.
I will update you with a step by step guide on the process to enter and leave the Cinema and in the investment in the screens and equipment it is my hope that not only will you feel confident and safe but be as safe as it is possible to be and in the safest Cinema in the UK.
This is a serious issue but our business is about fun, friends and leisure so we must be light hearted and positive in our compliance.
Have a great week and fun times ahead
Patrick Duffy
Viv, the infamous manager of the Palace, wrote a poem about the re-opening. The verse will be used as the Palace’s motto and entry advice.
Welcome to the Palace, We aim to keep you safe,
Anytime you’re on the move, Wear a mask on your face,
If seated at your seat, Then there is no need,
You have the screen to protect you, To these rules you must heed,
We will take your temperature, Tissues and sanitiser are free,
Wash your hands regularly, We know you will agree,
Make sure you keep your distance, And patience is a must,
Your safety and enjoyment, to us you can entrust
Felixstowe Businessman Lee Taylor believes that the Palace will be the first of many businesses to gain confidence- marking the start of Felixstowe’s High Street recovery and the recovery of the towns Economy.
